GRUYERES 2026
I decided to drive to Gruyères on this trip; I had visited before, but this time I went alone. I got so lucky with a gorgeous day—bright sunshine and about 15 degrees Celsius—perfect for walking the cobbled streets. I paid to join a tour of the castle for the first time, and that turned out to be absolutely worth it, offering fascinating history and great views. Lunch was enjoyed in a charming chalet and consisted of fondue with crusty bread, boiled potatoes and tangy pickles — SO YUMMY — and I left feeling pleasantly full and content.
