SOLOTHURN 2026
Written By Catie Stephens
I ventured to Solothurn for the first time, and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be. The Old Town may be small, but it is mighty in its charm and beauty. Everywhere you look the number 11 makes a playful appearance — on signs, in shop names, on beer labels, and even on clocks — lending the city a quirky, memorable character. Another feature of Solothurn is the shutters; wherever you turn there are colorful wooden shutters, each painted in different hues and often neatly maintained, adding warmth and personality to the facades and making strolls through the streets feel like walking through a living watercolor.
